Chef
A standalone path through Chef, the Ruby-based config-management platform. Beginner covers the pull model and client/server architecture, installing the tools, resources and recipes, and the converge run. Intermediate builds real cookbooks: attributes and precedence, templates, cookbook structure and dependencies, and the node/run-list model. Advanced goes deep: data bags and encrypted secrets, Test Kitchen and InSpec testing, Policyfiles and environments, and securing the Chef server and clients. Real Ruby recipes and CLI output throughout; each level ends with a self-test feeding a rotating final exam.
