Privacy at SecOpsLog

Last updated

SecOpsLog is built to respect your privacy by default. It is a static website with no advertising, no accounts and no cookies. The only measurement is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and page-load performance in aggregate (details below). You can read every page without being profiled or followed to other sites.

What we do not collect

  • No tracking or advertising cookies — the site sets none.
  • No accounts, logins, or personal profiles.
  • No cross-site tracking, advertising IDs or fingerprinting by SecOpsLog, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
  • No third-party fonts or ad scripts — fonts are self-hosted. The one third-party script is Cloudflare Web Analytics, described below.

What is processed

The site is served through Cloudflare, which, like any web host, processes standard request data such as IP address and user agent to deliver pages securely and protect against abuse. This is hosting infrastructure, not marketing analytics, and it is not used to build a profile of you.

Analytics

Pages load Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script from static.cloudflareinsights.com. It measures page views and page-load performance with the browser’s Performance API, and it sets no cookies. Cloudflare states that it does not collect or use visitors’ personal data (Cloudflare: About Web Analytics).

  • What SecOpsLog can see: aggregate counts in the analytics dashboard, broken down by page, referring site, country, browser, operating system and device type. The analytics do not identify individual visitors.
  • How long it is kept: Cloudflare keeps unsampled beacon data for 7 days and then samples it down, and the dashboard shows the previous six months (Cloudflare: Web Analytics FAQ).
  • Blocking it: a content blocker that stops the script changes nothing about how the site works.

Stored in your browser

A few preferences are kept in your browser’s local storage: the colour theme, which lessons you have opened, and which homepage demo was shown last. They stay on your device and are never sent anywhere.
